When Things Just Fall Into Place

When do you know you are meant to be together?

When do you realize it was meant to be forever?

Does your heart skip a beat?

Do you ride off into the sunset together?

Do you give each other knucks, kisses, hugs, and great rides?

Are you goofy, sweet, gritty, and both have hearts of gold?

YES, YES, YES, Yes you both are, you sure do, and you love every minute of it.

Yes, you were meant to be together, for forever, to ride down the fence, box a cow, trail cattle, rope, and ride off into the sunset.

Katie and Smart, aka, Fifty Shades Smarter are destined for greatness together! They are truly the definition of hardworking young ladies that will go far together, as they are better together and things just fell into place for them to be together forever.

One day Katie randomly posted on Facebook and Instagram about how she has a 'Heart Horse' and this is exactly her words on how she would define a 'heart horse' or her 'heart horse', Smarty.

Katie wrote, "Well, first off, her name is Smarty.

I call her Marty, because her personality reminds me of the giraffe off of Madagascar.

I tell her every time we enter the arena she has a heart of gold and I'm blessed to be able to possess something so beautiful as that.

I tell her on the daily how much I love and appreciate her. I appreciate the way she tries for me and I appreciate the way she makes me feel special.

The way she carries herself & carries me when I'm on her, inside and outside of the arena. She's confident in herself which helps me be confident in myself.

She's very strong willed and would literally do anything for me. Her attitude is much like a strong willed woman, but she loves hard. Which is why I think we get along so well.

She watches me walk away from her and she carefully watches me as I'm outside walking around. She always greets me at the gate and she always seems to put a smile on my face.

I could sit outside all day with her and talk for hours and she'd stand right by my side and listen to me. Somedays it's like she knows I need it and she makes sure she's right by my side. Somedays I feel like she could use it, so I wrap my arms around her face and she lays it on my chest and closes her eyes. We'll stand there for hours comforting each other.

Everywhere I seem to go, I have at least one stranger say to me "She absolutely loves you." I just smile, because strangers can see it. I usually reply with "She makes my heart happy, that's for sure." Which is 110% true.

I've never had a connection with any other horse like I have with Smarty and what an amazing feeling it is to have. To have a lifetime best friend that you can go on and do great... GREAT things with... and for that I am grateful.

I guess we all have a different definition on a heart horse, but there's mine."

Katie and Smarty are truly an amazing and blessed horse and rider pair, they compete together in rein cow horse events and their goal is to qualify and compete at the 2021 Rein Cow Horse event in Winnemucca, Nevada, in September and they have even bigger plans for showing in 2022. Through their hard work and determination they will succeed as their hearts of gold will be unstoppable. Watch out cow horse world, here they come!
